New Delhi, November o3, 2021. 

Government of India has  extended the timeline for the implementation of the Smart Cities Mission initiatives by two years  to June 2023. This information was provided to Parliament by  ,Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) November 02, 2021. The ministry has attributed the decision to provide extension to the delay n implementation of projects caused by COVID 19 pandemic. 

Indian Smart Cities Mission is the ambitious project of Government of India that envisages utilization of cutting edge  technologies and digital platforms  to transform urban service delivery in 100 lighthouse cities selected through a competitive process  to be made smart cities. Earlier timeline to complete the projects was 2021.
