Senor Economist & Public Policy Expert

Pooja Churamani is an Economist & Public Policy expert with over 18 years’ work experience in the field of development. She has been a staff and then a consultant with the World Bank for many years and has worked in several World Bank projects in India and globally from Washington D.C. She has worked across many sectors while consulting with the World Bank such as poverty reduction & economic management , on governance reform programs in Indian states, on public finance issues, private sector development especially on ‘Investment Climate & Regulatory Reform’, on capacity building and knowledge exchange programs in Public Health, on monitoring & evaluation of World Bank projects through the Independent Evaluation Group and also on cybersecurity & digital development with World Bank’s Digital Development Group in South Asia. She has contributed to several World Bank internal documents and to publications like the Global Anti- Corruption Report 2020. She holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics, U.K. and a Masters in International Public Policy (MIPP) from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) Johns Hopkins University, USA where she specialised in Public Health. She evinces a keen interest in social work and believes in contributing to society so she founded a non-profit organization ‘Suhana Bhavishya Foundation’ through which regular tree plantations are organised in Delhi NCR to fight pollution and reduce carbon footprint, the foundation also provides R.O. plants to selected govt., schools in Delhi so that thousands of children can get access to clean drinking water. During COVID 19 the foundation helped migrant workers with food rations and provided PPE kits as well as sanitizers to sanitation workers as well.
